Burglary Protection
Every Winchester Safe has gone through and passed the rigorous testing for burglary protection by Underwriters Laboratories (excluding Deputy series). In fact, due to our innovation, we were the first safe manufacturer worldwide to be listed by U.L. under the Residential Security Container (RSC) category. We accomplished this in 1991 and are recognized today as the industry leader in raising the level of security of gun safes. All of our U.L. Listed safes exceed the California DOJ requirement for firearms safety devices.
All Winchester Safe models come with either a U.L. Listed Type 1 electronic lock, or a U.L. Listed Group 2 three-tumbler mechanical combination lock.
Our secure design incorporates a re-locking device, which is a spring-loaded shot-pin that fires into the locking mechanism in the event of an attack on the lock. Once the re-locker is fired, the safe is locked closed, and the bolt work is rendered inoperative, completely preventing the unauthorized opening of your safe.
