Fort Worth-based Winchester Safes donated $14,500 this week to the Line of Duty Fund of The Dallas Foundation, benefitting the families of the fallen and injured first responders in Dallas during last month’s downtown shootings.
Winchester Safes raised funds by holding a weekend warehouse sale event with hourly raffle giveaways and blue bucket donation collections. All proceeds from the raffles and a portion of the sales were collected. Local Police, Fire, EMS and Active Duty Military received additional discounts during the sale as a thank you for their service and protection of community and country.
“We are strong supporters of law enforcement, first responders and our military, and we are humbled to be able to provide a little relief to the families who have sacrificed so much” said Kyle Walters, CEO of Winchester Safes and Vietnam veteran.
The July warehouse sale marked the first time the company had opened to the public its Fort Worth manufacturing facility, less than 30 miles from the location of those police shootings. The Line of Duty Fund at The Dallas Foundation works closely with the Dallas Police Department and the Dallas Area Rapid Transit Authority to distribute 100% of the funds collected to the officers and families affected by the shootings, which killed five Dallas-area police officers and wounded seven others in Dallas on July 7.← Back to Blog
